Daisuke for Mitsukake? 大輔 'Big Help' fits for a doctor. Which of course he still is. Six years of school is necessary for that in Japan, so he's at least 24.
Definitely Takashi - 隆 - for Hotohori; "noble, prosperous" ftw
Nuriko is female, duhness. TBH I have no clue how much of Nuriko in canon is meant to be trans or trauma or both, so I'm just gonna sidestep the entire thing. I like Ume - 梅 - for her, 'cause the idea of her being a ward against evil is fun.
Leaning towards Shinobu - 忍 endurance - for Chichiri. He is a psychology student who is really not happy he got a trauma bomb in his brain without warning. He is also the youngest at 19.
Really tempted to go with Tsubasa for Tasuki, but that's probably a little too on the nose. Thinking Kaito - 海翔 - instead.
Chiriko being a coworker of Taka's would be fun, actually. Gonna go with Makoto for him, no reason other than I like the name and it feels right.
I'm mostly picturing them all hanging out at Miaka and Taka's house and goofing around. No big danger, no overarching plot, just them getting the chance to live.
